Hey everyone! Guess what time it is? It’s peanut butter and jelly time! Oh man, I love me a PB&J. There is never a bad time for one either. This quick recipe for a Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie Bowl will let you eat PB&J for breakfast but with zero shame. WIN!
This blend of frozen berries,frozen bananas, yogurt, and natural peanut butter is simply a winner. When I was trying to decide what smoothie bowl I wanted today, I was a little stumped at first. After looking around in my pantry and getting the sudden urge to grab a spoon and just devour a bunch of PB straight from the jar, I had my “ah ha” moment. No, not like the 80’s rockband, just to be clear.
For those of you guys who have a peanut allergy, first of all, I am sorry. Second of all, almond butter or any other type of nut butter would be just fine in this. I used peanut butter just beacuse I love it and I have a ton of it on hand. Seriously, a TON.
Let’s do this!
Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie Bowl
So, darn, good.
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
- 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
- agave to taste
Mix all ingredients in blender till creamy and smooth. **add milk of your choice to taste to thin if you'd like a thinner consistency**
Pour into a bowl and add a few drops of peanut butter and swirl in.
Top with fresh berries, flax seeds, or even more peanut butter.
