Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is day 2 of my Smoothie Bowl Challenge on social media and I am loving it! A smoothie bowl recipe every day this week? Uh, yes please! Today’s creation is so good, let me tell you. You’re going to fall in love with this Maple Walnut Smoothie Bowl.
With this smoothie bowl, I kept it very simple. Well, in all actuality, that’s pretty much “how I roll”. Remember how I said I am not a morning person? Well, I am so very much not. When it comes to making breakfast in the morning, the less fuss the better. Smoothie bowls are great because they’re just a few ingredients thrown into a blender. Those few, magical ingredients pack a punch though for sure. In a good way, of course.
I would say the key here, in this recipe and most smoothie bowl recipes for that matter is, the bananas or frozen element. I like to use bananas because they’re cheap, readily available, and versatile. My suggestion would be to freeze your fruit (bananas etc) overnight or longer, then pull them out about 10 minutes before you go to blend them. Nothing is worse that trying to blend ROCK HARD bananas without much extra liquid. But hey, that might just be me.
Shall we do this?
Maple Walnut Smoothie Bowl
This is basically the best…ever.
- 2 Bananas (mostly frozen)
- 5 oz maple yogurt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnut pieces
- 1 tbsp ground flax seed
- drizzle good quality maple syrup
- milk as needed
Blend the yogurt and the bananas in a blender. Add optional milk to adjust for desired thickness. Pour into your favorite bowl.
Top with walnuts, flax, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
